This piece was created as part of an Inktober 2024 entry, combining traditional paper sketching with digital rendering. The grayscale foundation reflects the constraints of the challenge, while selective use of color emphasizes emotional focal points within the composition.
The work is based on original song lyrics and explores themes of vulnerability, emotional dependence, and internal conflict. The character’s closed posture and downward gaze suggest introspection and restraint, while the glowing blue hand introduces a contrasting force—symbolizing both connection and harm.
The interaction between the muted graphite textures and the digital color accents creates a tension between physical and emotional layers, reinforcing the idea of something intangible affecting the character’s inner state.
This piece represents an exploration of mixed media techniques as well as a personal narrative centered on emotional exposure and the complexity of attachment.
